Masala Chai Tea

The term “Chai” is often misused in Western culture to describe a particular tea blend – much to the amusement of Indians as the Indian word means tea. Masala Chai is a combination of Black tea and spices grown in the Indian sub-continent, milk and sugar or honey as a sweetener. It is believed to have been a popular beverage for many centuries and a habit adopted by the early Europeans after their arrival. Different blends of Masala Chai have been developed to suit the tastes of Western consumers.
